Arm Lift Anti Aging Surgery

The arm lift is done in order to remove the excess unwanted skin from the upper arm region. The sagging of the skin in the upper arm is usually caused by weight loss. And aging too, causes the skin loose its natural elasticity. The arm lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure called the ‘Body contouring’. The upper Arm lift anti aging surgery is also termed as Brachioplasty.

The arm lift helps in improving the person’s appearance and self-confidence. But it doesn’t necessarily change the look. It’s just an improvement, not perfection, in the way a person looks. The risks involved in arm lift include bleeding, infection and a permanent scar. The operation can be performed with either local anesthetic and sedation or a general anesthetic. Total Intravenous Anesthetic (TIVA) is a new anesthetic technique in which the patient sleeps soundly during the operation and feels no pain. The Arm lifting anti aging surgery reduces the circumference of the arm by removing the excess tissues. The incisions for removing the extra skin are made along the inner arm. Here the scar can be best concealed. The common incision extends from the region just above the elbow to the armpit. Not only the superficial skin, but also the loosened deeper attachments are treated. Liposuction also can be done to contour the layer. The patient may feel sore and tired for the first few days. A compression garment should be worn to tighten the skin and reduce swelling. Within a week the patient can return to work, depending upon the activity required for the job.
